Life Learners Home Educated Enrichment Events

All Life Learners events are booked using Humanitix.

General Terms and Conditions

Check in: Some events have a Life Learners volunteer at them but most are self check in.

What this means is that the event host company has a group booking with Life Learners and will have a list that they are marking off names of attendees.
 

When you arrive at the event you will sign in everyone under the person who made the booking.

Start Times: Events require attendees to arrive on time. Not arriving by the specified time for the event may mean you cannot enter the event. Please be understanding of this as arriving late can hold up the entire group and companies kind enough to work with our home educated community often have other bookings after us so cannot start late.

 

Group Minimums: There is a minimum amount of tickets that need to purchased on most events (set by the host company). In the event this minimum amount of tickets is not sold before the cancellation date (which is also the host companies confirmation date) the event will be cancelled and refunded.
 

Event Information: All information on the event booking page is provided by the hosting company to Life Learners. Sometimes minor details or itinerancy within the program provided to Life Learners is changed. This is outside Life Learners control and we cannot offer refunds. In the circumstance that the change is such that you need to make a complaint please make it respectfully to the host company for the event.
 

Postponement Dates:

Weather dependent events have a postponement date. Please do not book the event if you cannot commit to the postponement date or are happy to resell or gift your tickets if you cannot attend on the postponement date.

Where to keep updated about Life Learners events: All information for the events in provided on the event listing on Humanitix. Changes or updates to the event will be emailed through the event platform (Humanitix), updated on the event website page (in the case of change of date/ postponements) and posted on the Facebook event page. The Facebook event is a great place to talk to others going to the event and ask questions.

It is your responsibility to ensure you are receiving the emailed information and that you check the event information before the event for any updates. We cannot offer refunds if you have not seen updates made by Life Learners.

Supervision and Behaviour on events:

  • All events (unless otherwise specified) require an adult supervisor for youth attending. Sometimes there are ratios that apply to this supervision. Please ensure before you book you have read the event information.

  • Most events are younger sibling friendly but a few are not and have age restrictions. Please ensure before you book you have read the event information.

  • All youth must be booked under the supervisors name for their booking. This ensures Life Learners and the event host company know who is responsible for all youth.

  • The supervisor for each youth is responsible for ensuring youth follow all rules provided for an event/ explained at the start of the event by the host company, that the youth behave in a manner that represents our home educated community in a good light.

  • The supervisor of each youth is responsible for all wellbeing, first aid and medical needs. Please ensure you bring required gear requested by the host company (clothing, shoes, wet weather gear etc...) as well as anything needed for the youth's wellbeing, first aid and medical needs.

  • All host companies and Life Learners reserve the right to ask anyone who is being a danger to themselves/others, breaking rules or displaying abusive behaviour to leave the event. There is no refund available if this happens.
